Dahlia Washi Foiled Arch Card | Angela Simpson
Hi friends! Angela here, and today I've got a project to share with you that features the recently-released Dahlia Washi suite, as well as one of my all-time favorite Pinkfresh products, the Arch Backdrop Hot Foil Plate.
One of the huge perks of washi tape cards is that they're often very easy to make, and don't require you to get a bunch of supplies out. (Don't get me wrong, I love that too, but sometimes time is limited!) Pinkfresh's washi florals are always stunning, and in the case of the Dahlia Washi, there are beautiful gold flecks in the design that coordinate perfectly with other hot foil elements on a card.
To get started, I paired the Arch Backdrop plate with some shiny gold foil and foiled that using my Glimmer Hot Foil System. After using the Arch Backdrop Die to cut it out, I rolled out a few stretches of the Dahlia Washi tape on white cardstock, then cut them out with their coordinating die too. I usually opt to cut more washi elements than I need, and my future self is always grateful for that!
In a previous session I'd already foiled a 'hey' sentiment from the Fancy Script Words hot foil plate set, and the green cardstock seemed to tie in really nicely with the greens from the washi tape. With my card components all ready, it was time for assembly. The arch looked a little basic on a plain white background, so I made the last minute decision to add a white under-layer using the new Floral Tiles cover plate. This added some texture, but not so much that it detracted from the card's focal elements.
I popped the arch forward with foam tape, then arranged and secured pieces of Dahlia Washi around the inside. To finish, I adhered my sentiment and a few little gold pearls for extra shine.
Thank you so much, as always for stopping by to check out this card. I hope it's got you feeling inspired to create something of your own today, and if you haven't yet, be sure to check out the latest Pinkfresh release here. Until next time, happy crafting! - Angela
