Happy Tuesday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you another inspiration project with a “Pop-Up” made with a fun hidden flap effect using, Simplest Gestures Hot Foil, Simplest Gestures Stamp, Simplest Gestures Layering Stencils, Simplest Gestures Die and Intricate Stitched Ovals Cover Plate Die from the April-2022 Stamp, Die, Stencil & Hot Foil Release. Along with them, I used Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Squares Die Set to add the stitched square frame, Noteworthy Frames Die Set to add the labeled inner sentiment, one of the paper sheets from Happy Heart: 12 x 12 Paper Pack to add the patterned background. Also, Jewels: Glacier to add a pop of sparkle and lastly, PFS- Inks to add the pops of colors. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started off by creating the card base, so to do that, I went ahead to get trim down with my paper trimmer an 8.5 x 11 white cardstock sheet to H 9-3/4” x W 4-3/4. Next, I went ahead to place down the cardstock piece over my score board tool with the longer width of it to the right and then, I proceeded to trace a scoring line at 5-1/2 inches. Then, I turned the cardstock with the longer width towards me over the score board tool to get another two scoring lines at 1/4 on an inch on each side of the cardstock.

Thus, after adding both scoring lines to each side, I went ahead to fold the smaller flap of the card over the longer flap. Next, I used a small pair of scissors to add a diagonal cut to the centers of the 1/4 of an inch from the edges and then, I proceeded to use an Xacto knife and a ruler to fussy cut out with the small scissors the edges from the bottom flap of the card base, leaving it that way at the standard 4-1/4 size. Having that said, after fussy cutting out the edges, I went ahead to used Intricate Stitched Ovals Cover Plate Die to add a delicate detailed touch to the bottom part of the card base.

Moving on, as soon as I’ve had finished the card base, I went ahead to create the hidden pop-up flap card element. So, to do that, I went ahead to trim down a piece of cardstock to H 9-1/16 x W 3-3/4 inches. Next, I placed down the cardstock piece over the score board tool to with the longer width to the right and then, I got traced over it three scoring lines at 4-3/4, 5-1/2 and 6-1/4 inches marks. Having that being said, after getting the scoring lines added to it, I went ahead to fold them over creating a mountain and then, I added pieces of strong double-sided adhesive to get the center adhered

Thus, after getting the center of the hidden pop-up flap card adhered, I went ahead to trim down two pieces from one of the patterned paper sheet included in Happy Heart: 12 x 12 Paper Pack. And then, I got them glue down over both inner flaps just as shown in the image above.

Right after that I had gotten glue down to the inner flaps, I went ahead to add the pop-up die-cutting and hot foil stamped floral element to the center of it, so to do that, I went ahead to use Simplest Gestures Hot Foil, Simplest Gestures Layering Stencils and Simplest Gestures Die along with my Platinum Six die cut machine, Glimmer Hot Foil System and a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold for the hot foil stamping process. Also, for the layered stenciling, I used a combination of Apricot Ink, Clementine Ink, Grassy Knoll Ink, Olive Ink, Evergreen Ink, Ocean Breeze Ink, and Tidal Pond Ink.

Soon afterwards that I had added the die-cutting floral pop-up element to the center of the pop-up flap card, I went ahead to add a smaller blank stitched square to add a space where to write a personal message to the card. So, to do that, I used the medium size die included in Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Squares Die Set. Also, I used one of the dies included in Noteworthy Frames Die Set to add the inner labeled looking card sentiment. As for the card sentiment, I used embossing ink, gold embossing powder and my heat gun embossing tool along with one of the sentiments included in Simplest Gestures Stamp.

Nevertheless, I proceeded to get the hidden pop-up flap adhered to the card base, so to do that, I used a piece of plastic from one of the packaging with the following measurement 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 inches. Next, I added two pieces of double-sided adhesive to two-sides of it and then, I went ahead to peel off one of the ends with the double-sided adhesive and then, I got it adhered edge to edge to the center part of front flap from the hidden pop-up flap card which, I had folded over before that. Once, I had that step completed, I went ahead to flip over the piece of plastic and then, I went ahead to use the back of my bone folder to flatten out the fold over the same place where I had previously adhered. Lastly, I went ahead to peel off the other side with the double-sided adhesive and then, I went ahead to line up the hidden pop-up flap card right in the center leaving the same 1/4 of an inch space from both sides. Also, I lined up the front flap of the card base with the end where I had gotten adhered the plastic and once, I had that done, I went ahead to press down the front flap to get the plastic adhered to it. By the way, I used adhesive with 1/4 width to get the plastic adhered.

Once, I had made sure that the hidden pop-up card element was into place and the pop-up effect worked perfectly, I went ahead to seal the card’s front flap by getting glue down the edges to the back of the bottom flap.

Lastly, I went ahead to get the front flap of the card base embellished, so to do that, I used the larger die included in Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Squares Die Set to cut out and add stitched details to the frame. Next, I used the same set to get the hot foil stamping and layered stenciling done over the square frame and then, I got the backing of it mounted over the card base with foam adhesive to add a little bit of dimension to it.

The stencils includes some wording sentiments, so I went ahead to use the Hello sentiment included in one of them and then, I used its coordinating die to cut it out from the cardstock and to add a dimensional look to it. Besides that, I used the same teal hues for a cohesive look as well.

Lastly, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add a pop of sparkle by gluing down here and there some of the Jewels: Glacier. And this is how the card looks like standing out with the hidden pop-up flap from here, you can reinforce the backing of it by gluing down another panel to its back or you can get it adhered to an A2 top folding white card base to add more space to write a personal message instead of adding it inside of the hidden pop-up flap.
