Fussy Cutting with Just a Little Lovely | Kathleen Graumüller
Hey everyone, it's Kathleen here again and today I have two layouts to share that I created with the gorgeous Just a Little Lovely collection. Although they are quite different, they both focus on the same technique: fussy cutting.
My first layout is a bit more "typical" for me; with the white background and the floral elements. The flowers on the One Fine Day paper just screamed to be fussy cut! I cut all of them out and kept the inside of the paper for a later project - no need to waste anything!
I arranged the flowers around the edges of the white cardstock until I was happy with the placement. When adhering them, I made sure to use some 3D foam pads behind some of the smaller leaves to add a bit more dimension.
For my title I used the happy word from the Puffy Phrase Stickers because it not only fit the photo, but also the color scheme of the page perfectly! I absolutely love them - there are lots of different words in it and they have a great size for layout titles!
I didn't do much embellishing because the fussy cut flowers already take up a lot of space and I wanted them to stand out. I only added some enamel dots and a sticker from the Mixed Embellishment Pack and a few of the Phrase Cardstock Stickers - they fit right into the color scheme.
For my second layout I started by fussy cutting the banners from the Chitchat paper. At first I wanted to add them to a white cardstock and create a little bit of a mixed media background behind them, but when I saw the backside of the Around Here paper, I knew that it would go perfectly and I'd never be able to create a better background ;)
I arranged the banners in a circle, trying to do it tone-on-tone as much as possible, which worked out pretty well :) I kept the center of the page empty because I knew that's where I wanted to place my photo. To make sure that it would stand out from the rainbow colors, I printed it in black and white.
I also used some floral die cut pieces from the Ephemera Pack to create even more separation between the photo and the background. When it came to embellishing, I picked die cuts and stickers that would fit the theme of the page and, again, arranged them tone-on-tone.
Finally, I scattered around some enamel dots; mostly from the Just a Little Lovely collection, but I added in some from my stash so I'd have some in every color.
Although this layout feels a little different from what I normally create, I like how it turned out. There are also lots of other ways you could arrange the fussy cut banners and/or create your own background.
I hope these two layouts inspire you to do some fussy cutting with the Just a Little Lovely collection!
Thanks a lot for stopping by! Xo, Kathleen
