Happy Monday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you another clean and simple Christmas inspiration card yet, made with a “Fun Fold/Swing” effect using: Ornaments Hot Foil and Ornaments Die to create the extra glimmering Christmas ornaments. Along with them, I also used: Sparkling Diamonds Die to add the extra sparkling texture to the inner part of the card plus, Blanket Stitched Rectangles Die Set to add the decorative frame. Also, I used the must-have Solid Hot Foil Plate to create the reverse hot foil stamping and last but not least, Metallic Pearls -Gold to add even more sparkle to the card. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started off by trimming off in half an 8.5 x 11.0 inches white cardstock paper sheet using my paper trimmer to create two side folding card bases. Next, I went ahead to use my score board tool and a Teflon bone folder to score one of the paper pieces at 4-1/4 inches and once, I had that done, I proceeded to open up the card base and then, I placed it down flat open over the die-cutting plate from my die cut machine. Followed by that step, I went ahead to place over the right card flap the medium size die included in Blanket Stitched Rectangles Die Set to die cut the frame and to add the stitching details to it.

Next, as soon as, I had finished getting the die-cutting process to add the opening window over the card flap, I went ahead to put it off to the side to create the fun fold effect over the other cardstock piece. Thus, for the second cardstock piece, I went ahead to place down the cardstock piece over my score board tool and then, I traced over it using my Teflon bone folder 3 scoring lines at 2-1/8, 4-1/4, and 6-3/8. Having that said, after I had gotten added the scoring lines, I went ahead to fold over the first and second folds in a mountain fold and then, the third fold in a valley fold.

Then, as soon as, I had finished folding them over, I’ve gone ahead to use a pencil and a ruler to mark off 1/2 inch from top to the inner part of the fold and then, from bottom to the inner part. Once, I had those 1/2 inches marked on the top and bottom, I proceeded to use a pair of sharp scissors to cut out the center part from the fold. By fussy cutting the center part off from the first fold, I was able to create two hinges, one in the top and the other in the bottom. Hinges which, helped me to get the inner part of the fun fold for the card attached to the back side of the die-cutting frame created in the first card base. If, this sounds confusing no worries, you will see this clearly as, I keep explaining it.

Thus, after getting the fussy cutting step completed, I went ahead to start the fund fold effect assembled but before that, I went ahead to use some craft magnets to add a closure to keep the card closed. So, to do that, I went ahead to glue down the first magnet right in the center of the back edge to the opening window. Then, to cover the magnet up, I went ahead to get adhered another die-cutting frame. A die-cutting frame which, I had created using the same die that I used to cut out the front part for the card base.

Moving on, after adding the second frame to the back side of the opening area in the card base, I went ahead to get the back side of the valley fold adhered with double sided adhesive edge to edge over the inner part on the right flap from the card base with the front opening. Then, after I got it adhered, I went ahead to fold the second mountain fold over the valley fold and then, I added glue to the front parts of the two hinges to get them glue down to the back side of the opening area from the card in a way as, you can see them glue down in the image above.

So, in the image above, you can take a closer look for how this fun fold card base should look like with the hinges gluing down in the back of the front opening and the fussy cut out part from the first fold. Then, the second mountain fold without any adhesive to create the swing effect and lastly, the valley fold adhered edge to edge on the inner part of the card base.

To continue, I went ahead to use the center part from the die-cutting frame to create the smaller front card panel for the swinging effect however, to make the swinging effect more effective and to avoid the panel from getting stuck when opening and closing the card, I used once again the paper trimmer to trim down 1/8 of an inch from each side of it.

At this point, before getting the smaller frame adhered to the card, I decided to add extra texture to the inner part of the card so, to do that, I used an A2 size white card panel and Sparkling Diamonds Die. Thus, after adding the texture to the card pane, I went ahead to get it trim down in half and then, I also got 1/8 of an inch trim down from each of them to narrow them down in width but not in height.

So, after getting those two textured panels narrowed down, I went ahead to add two more magnets before getting them adhered to the folds so, I proceeded to get the second magnet adhered in the center of the left side of the mountain fold and the third magnet in the center of the edge from the valley fold. Then, after getting them into place, I went ahead to get the backing of the textured panels adhered over the inner fold from the card. By the way, I left the right side of the inner mountain fold without adding any texture to have a blank space to write a personal message.

Nevertheless, after getting the textured panels adhered to the inner folds, I went ahead to fully close the card up to get the smaller panel adhered to the front part of the first inner fold. So, to do that, I went ahead to add double-sided adhesive to back side of the right side of the smaller card panel and then, I got its backing adhered to the inner fold.

Then, right after, I got it adhered, I went ahead to flat open the inner side of card base to start off the card embellishment.

But, before doing that, I went ahead to confirm that the swinging effect was working out perfectly fine when getting the card open and close. Thus, for the embellishments, I used as I mentioned at the beginning of the post, Ornaments Hot Foil to get the ornaments foil stamped over a large piece of white cardstock using as well the Glimmer Hot Foil System along with pieces of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Aura. And also, Ornaments Die to cut them out from the cardstock.

Although, I was going for a clean and simple look without using any colors, I decided to use the reverse hot foil stamping from the ornaments instead of the outlined foil stamping images. So, to do the reverse hot foil stamping, I used the must have Solid Hot Foil Plate. That said, I went ahead to use three Christmas ornaments to get the front part of the interactive panel embellished and then, I used the Solid Hot Foil Plate once again to create a foiled cardstock piece to cut out the die-cutting matching bow. By the way, I used the dies included in Artistic Bows Die Set to die cut the bow.

I would like to mention that the ornaments hot foil has its matching Ornaments Stamp just in case you are not into hot foil stamping. Also, has the matching Ornaments Stencils if, you are up to add pops of colors to the outlined hot foil stamped ornaments. Moving on, from the stamp, I used one the card sentiments to get it stamped with embossing ink and gold heat embossed it with gold embossing powder over a small piece of white cardstock. Then, after getting that stamping and heat embossing done, I used its coordinating die not only to cut out the sentiment but to cut out a few more to make it dimensional.

Lastly, I went ahead to glue down the dimensional die-cutting card sentiment on the lower part of the interactive card panel and then, I went ahead to also glue down some of the leftover ornaments in the center of the last fold from the card.

The stamp set also includes three different stamp images for the ornament strings however, to made it easier for me, I decided to use a gold gel pen and a ruler instead of using them out to create my own strings since, they were going to be stamped in different sizes. And finally, as finishing touches, I went ahead to glue down some of the Metallic Pearls -Gold finishing off this card with a little extra shine. NOTE: If, you recreate this card, yours should not look a little bent like mine does or with the end of the lower corner slightly open; I did not realize that part of the backing from the adhesive was not completely peeled off to get both frames adhered together until, I was creating this blog post. So, I left it as is in all photographs and then got that fixed afterwards. However, I wanted to mentioning it in case you wonder why the bottom corner looks slightly open or bend.
