Hey there friends! It's Angela here, back with another handmade card project that features a few of the gorgeous products from Pinkfresh Studio's latest release.

Peonies are one of my favorite types of flower, so you can imagine I was pretty excited to see the Peony Print suite - a trio of the hot foil plate, layering stencils and cling stamp. Since I'm head over heels for foiling all the things, I opted to use the hot foil plate rather than the stamp for today's card. That said, if you don't have a hot foiling machine, you could easily achieve a very similar look with gold heat embossing.

To begin, I used matte gold foil and my Glimmer machine to foil the Peony Print image onto an A2 piece of white cardstock. I've been gravitating towards pinks and greens lately, so I decided to work through the layering stencils with Pinkfresh inks in Ballet Slipper, Grassy Knoll and Evergreen. Grassy Knoll is a very bright green, so after filling in the color of the leaves, I went back over again with a light layer of Evergreen to make the color a little deeper. Similarly, since Ballet Slipper is such a pale pink, I used a slightly smaller blending brush and Sparkling Rose ink to intensify the color a bit more in some areas. This is something I do a lot to create "new" colors, and if you don't have that many ink pads in your stash, I highly recommend giving it a try!

As for the sentiment, I picked a fairly bold one since there was going to be a lot going on behind it once the card was assembled. The Simplest Gestures layering stencil set was perfect for this, and after using my ink blending brush and Aquamarine ink to create the "hello", I used the coordinating die to cut it out.

The design needed a bit more color, so I created a panel of 1/8" strips with bits of leftover cardstock to place under the sentiment. An 1/8th of an inch is pretty skinny and can be tough to cut on a paper trimmer, but the Slim Stripes Die Set makes it a breeze.

To tie the whole card together, I created a frame from white cardstock and a die from the Blanket Stitched Rectangles die set. From there it was just a matter of adhering the layers, and backing the frame and striped piece with foam tape for dimension. Since there was already quite a bit of shine from the foiled peony print, I skipped embellishments and called it a day.
