Happy Wednesday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you an inspiration project with a “Graduation Season” made with a fun see-through shaker/pocket effect using; Nested Stars Hot Foil, Nested Stars Die, Sparkling Diamonds Die, Slimline Stars Builder Layering Stencil Set, Essentials: Fillable Gift Card Holder Die Set, Essentials: Classic Words Die Set, Heather Lowercase Die Set, and Essentials: Shaker Tags. Along with them, I used Jewels: Ocean Breeze to add a little sparkle to the shaker star window and lastly, PFS- Inks to add the pops of colors to the insert tag. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started off by creating the card base, so to do that, I went ahead to get trim down in with my paper trimmer an 8.5 x 11 white cardstock sheet to H 5-1/2” x W 8-1/2. Next, I went ahead to place down the cardstock piece over my score board tool with the longer width of it to the right and then, I proceeded to trace a scoring line at 2-1/8 inches. Then, I turned the cardstock over the score board tool to trace another scoring line at 2-1/8 inches again to create a gate fold card.

Thus, after adding both scoring lines to each side, I went ahead to fold them over using my bone folder and then, I used the second to last large die included in Nested Stars Die to partially cut the star window in the front part of the gate fold card opening. However, I did this in two steps so, to do that, I went ahead to line up the die on one side of the card opening and then, I went ahead to run it through the die cut machine. Next, I repeated the same step to partially cut the other opening out.

Next, as soon as I’ve had finished cutting out the star window in front of the card opening, I went ahead to get the sides of the card opening embellished. Thus, to do that, I went ahead to add a detailed texture over an A2 size white card panel using, Sparkling Diamonds Die. Once, I had finished doing that, I proceeded to trim down the textured card panel in half and then, I cut out the star window on both sides as well. Having that said, after getting it trim down, I proceeded to get each textured piece adhered to each side of the card opening. Then, I added the see-through shaker window over it.

As for the shaker star window, I went ahead to use the die that I used to cut out the star window over the card base along with the largest die included in the same set, to cut out the large star frame from white and gold cardstock. A star frame which by the way, I added dimension using skinny pieces of craft foam adhesive and pieces of acetate to create the dimensional see-through shaker effect. Lastly, after creating the see-though shaker star, I went ahead to get it glue down over the card base following the die-cutting star that I created earlier over it. At this point, this card design it’s done and can be easily use as a standard gate fold card with a see-though shaker element. However, in this case, I turned it out as a card pocket because, I wanted to add inside of it a decorative tag and a gift card holder.

Moving on, to create the decorative tag, I used a combination of a large piece of white cardstock and the largest die included in Essentials: Shaker Tags to cut out and to add the stitching details to it. Also, I used Slimline Stars Builder Layering Stencil Set along with an ink blending brush and Ocean Breeze Ink + Mermaid Cove Ink to add the layered stenciling starry background effect over it.

Besides that, I used the dies included in Heather Lowercase Die Set to cut out the letters from white and gold cardstock to create the die-cutting and dimensional “Class of 2022” sentiment over the decorative tag. Last but not least, I finished the tag off by adding a piece of translucent ribbon on which, I got finished off by getting a tie up a bow on the top part of the tag.

Because I wanted this card design to be a pocket card, I went ahead to seal its bottom part using a skinny strip of liquid glue and then, I got the tag inserted inside of the card pocket.

Due the see-though effect over the star shaker window, you can see the how the background added to the decorative tag shows through it. By the way, for the shaker bits, I used glitter stars from my stash along with Jewels: Ocean Breeze to add an extra sparkle touch to it. Also, I used one of the top layers dies included in Essentials: Classic Words Die Set to cut out and created the dimensional Congrats sentiment. A sentiment, which by the way, I got glued down over the see-though shaker star frame.

Lastly, to create the gift card holder, I used a combination of white and gold cardstock along with the dies included in Essentials: Fillable Gift Card Holder Die Set to cut out and add the detailed touches to the gift card holder. Also, I used once again Sparkling Diamonds Die to add the same detailed look to the front flap to it as well.

Other than that, you can see on the image above how the inside of the gift card holder looks like. A specially made gift card holder to gift on any special occasion.
