Golden Garden Party | Anne Fiene
Hi everyone! I'm on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today with a pretty Autumn-themed card. I used the new Garden Party die with various specialty papers to celebrate fall colors! I started out thinking I would make just one or two flowers for a CAS card, but I changed my mind as I went because I was having too much fun combining colors and texture to stop at just a couple of blooms.
I started with the background because I knew just what I wanted to do. I used two different panels for the card front, one in cream and one in gold. And after I was done making a pile of flowers I decided to arrange them along the center line.
I decided to split the blooms just like the background was split and use two different kinds of paper on each bloom. I would die-cut out three versions of each finished flower. I held the two blooms I wanted to place together, one on top of the other, and used my guillotine cutter to cut them in half. That way, the cut matched each of the halved flowers. The third flower was used as a base layer to glue the halved flowers to, in this case I used dark brown paper. I curled the petals and base layer before using a bit of glue in the centers to stick them together.
For my autumnal flowers, I used Paper Rose's Assorted Shimmer cardstock along with some pumpkin orange paper. That sparkly gold paper is Pinkfresh's own Essentials Glitter Cardstock!
When I started laying out and adhering the flowers down, sometimes with foam tape for even more dimension, I made sure the gold half of the flower was placed over the cream side of the paper. Then, I added a few dark brown stems, small flowers, dots, and leaves (all from the Garden Party die).
The sentiment is from the Art Deco Floral Arch stamp and die sets. It was perfect for my autumnal garden party card. I decided it didn't need any additional sparkle or shine, and I was done!
I hope this has inspired you to make something new today! Thanks for stopping by!
