Soft Inky Bouquet | Anne Fiene

Soft Inky Bouquet | Anne Fiene

Hi everyone! I'm up on the Pinkfresh blog today with a soft, creamy card I made with one of the new release suites, the Inky Bouquet stamp, stencil set, and die. I love how artsy the design feels. And those stripes on the jar? Cute!

I've been into silver or gray on cream or brown or orange lately, something about a cool shade with warm shades... I don't know, I'm exploring. So I stamped the Inky Bouquet image onto Ivory cardstock with light gray ink, leaving the stamp in the stamping platform.

Using the 6-stencil set I colored some of the blooms with Ballet Slipper and Coral Reef and a teeny tiny amount of Passion Fruit right at the tips of the petal. Then I used Sky Blue and Summer Shower, and again, a small amount of Seaside at the tips of the petals. I used Misty Coast and Rocky Slope for the leaves and Sparkling Rose for those tiny flower sprays. For that fun stripey jar, I used Ballet Slipper and Coral Reef again, trying to make sure the darker shading stayed on one side of the jar as well as the bottom, to help show that the jar is rounded. I used Warm Buff to color the stripes and I was done coloring my bouquet.

I put it back in the MISTI (where I left my stamp) and used a sticky ink to heat emboss silver detail over the whole image. When you tilt it just right, it's so pretty! I grabbed the accompanying die to cut it out and set it aside.

For the backing panel, I used Pinkfresh's Hearts and Stars coverplate die on more Ivory paper, I trimmed it down and rounded the corners using a We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. Then I matted it with a panel of Cream colored cardstock, which is just slightly darker than the Ivory. And used fun foam to adhere it to a Kraft cardstock A2-sized base. Before I used foam tape to stick the Inky Bouquet to the card I tied a stray (it was floating around my craft table for ages!) bit of silver string to one side of the panel then the bouquet went down. The sentiment, "Sending Love", from the Inky Bouquet stamp set, went down last. Time for bling!

One of the things I love about the Hearts and Stars die is that it not only gives you a die-cut panel but in the process, also ends up cutting out a bunch of hearts and stars! So I used it two more times, once on silver satin specialty paper and again on sparkly copper cardstock. I added Lagoon Glitter Drops, and Peach Fuzz Jewels along with the copper stars and silver hearts to my eclectic bouquet... And at the very last minute decided to put a black string bow for some contrast, over the silver bow and I was done!

I hope that some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks so much for coming by!

What a beautiful card. I need some cream cardstock. Do you have a brand you like?
