Brighter Days Celebration Card | Angela Simpson

Hey there friends! Angela here, and today i've got a project to share that was inspired by this month's Pinkfresh Challenge. July's theme is Sparkle & Shine, and as I'm sure you'd agree, there are MANY ways to achieve that look with Pinkfresh products! I chose to work with one of my favorite suites, Brighter Days, to create a card that would be great for a birthday, anniversary, or any other kind of every-day celebration.

I began my project by foiling the Brighter Days plate with rose gold foil - a color I don't use often, but felt drawn to this time. Before putting away my foiling machine, I used the Pinkfresh Solid Foil Plate to reverse-foil my leftover pieces because even though I've got a hefty stash of foil rolls, I never like to let the scraps go to waste! Anyone else feel the same way?

While I didn't quite stick to the color palette inspiration for this month's challenge, I did incorporate Ballet Slipper, a soft pink. Working through the Brighter Days layering stencils, I did all of the blooms in the same color, going in with a heavier hand on the more detailed stencils. The same process applied to the leaves, this time with Tidal Pond ink.

Once all the images were colored, I cut them out with the Brighter Days die, then moved onto the background elements. There are so many gorgeous designs in Pinkfresh's cover plate assortment, and the Ornate Medallions seemed to have just the right amount of visual interest to be the background layer for my card design. After trimming it down to 3.5 x 4.75", I mounted it on an A2 card base, followed by a frame created with the Folk Edge Circles die set.

Temporary tape held my flower arrangements in place while I decided on their placements, and after sticking them down, I finished the card with a scripty Celebrate hot foil sentiment. I contemplated adding a few embellishments, but eventually decided that with so much shine from the foiled elements, they weren't necessary this time.

As always, thank you so very much for taking the time to stop by and check out this project. I hope you're feeling inspired to create something shimmery and shiny, and that you'll also enter the Pinkfresh Challenge for this month. You've got until August 2nd to get your projects in. Good luck, and I'll see you back here soon! - Angela
