Adding texture with the new Border Stencils | Raquel Arribas
Hi Pinkfresh friends!
Today I've got three cards to share with you featuring the new Border Stencils. This set of two stencils has so many possibilities; you can use them not only to add texture the border of your cards but also to create patters ...the sky is the limit.
My first project features the new Cheers stamp set. I started out by using one these border stencils to create a pattern onto my card base placing the stencil towards the center of the card. I used Cherry Blossom, Candy Apple, Citron, Ocean Breeze, Grassy Knoll, Passion Fruit and Waterfall.
Next up I placed the Decorative Frames Press plate onto my Betterpress Chase and inked it up with Detail Black ink. Then I cut this piece with the coordinating die and use on the them to frame the focal point of my card.
This Cheers stamp is so much fun! I used the coordinating layering stencils to add the same colors of the background to these images. I was happy I remembered to stamp the sub sentiment before adhering all the images. I used lots of foam adhesive to add dimension along with some Ice clear drops. Lastly I stamped the Cheers word sentiment from this same set in Candy Apple.
For my next project I used another of the Border Stencils set to ink my front panel diagonally. This time I used Cherry Blossom, Sunkissed, Sweet Mustard, Citron and Grassy Knoll.
I used the Sweet Blossom die set and stencils to create these beautiful array of flowers. Again, to keep my design cohesive, I used the same colors of the background to bring these blooms to life.
Before adhering the clusters of flowers to my front panel, I cut it out with the Stitched Rectangles die set. Lastly I clear heat embossed the Happy Vibes sentiment I had stamped with Detail Black ink.
For my last project I used the amazing Be fearless set. I followed the same process of my previous projects: add some texture to the background with the Border Stencils and color the main flower images with those same colors.
This time I used Waterfall, Turquoise, Cherry Blossom, Candy Apple and Grassy knoll. I love to add several colors to my flowers, so instead of coloring all the flowers red or blue I mixed Cherry Blossom with Waterfall and Candy Apple.
I created a circle and ink blended it with Waterfall ink on half of the circle. Then I used the Stitched Scalloped Circles out of white cardstock and foam mounted it onto my circle. I arranged my flowers onto that circle and added my sentiment. This sentiment is from the Beautiful Branch Stamp set. I kept it simple as I love this clean look .
I hope you give these ideas a try because these stencils are amazing and so much fun to create with.
Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!
Raquel
