Splashing fun with Days of Splendor | Vicki Parker
Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today to share my second layout using the latest collection, Days of Splendor which you can buy now from your favourite online retailer.
I started off with a piece of plain, smooth white cardstock and splattered some Sky Blue Liquid Watercolour directly from the bottle using the pipette onto the page to give the impression of rain splatters, as I knew I wanted to use a photo of my nieces splashing in puddles. I also used the same watercolour to add a bit of colour and some splatters behind where the photo was going to go.
The umbrella cut file from the store is so gorgeous, and just perfect for my photo. I cut it out on plain white cardstock and stuck the outline to my page. Then I used the inner pieces as a template to cut the shapes from the Grateful Heart paper that could be raised on foam to give a sort of inverted cut file appearance.
Then I went to town with the floral embellishment pack and added lots of florals to the rim of the upside down umbrella to make it look like it was overflowing with flowers and leaves. I also added in some chipboard flair, puffy stickers and some jewels from the Jewels Mix.
I backed my photo with part of a tag from the Stitched Elements pack and the layout was complete. I do hope it gives you some inspiration for using the cut files with the new collection. Thank you so much for looking, Vicki x
