Hi everyone, welcome back to the Pink Fresh Studio blog. Today I want to share with you two layouts using the beautiful new release collection 'Let's Stay Home'

If you are familiar with my scrapbooking style you would know that I always use mixed media on my layouts, but today I tried to step outside my comfort zone and use my foundational skills to document a couple of everyday special moments. 

My tips to create clean simple layouts is to always mount your photo, have a clear title and feature a couple of large embellishments. As you can see in this layout I have ticked off those tips, but I have also gone one step further and added a border around my page. How beautiful is that blue and white floral patterned paper. 

I have also used a little foam tape to add some dimension behind my large embellishments and title. Using foam tape gives that little bit of pop to your layout and allows for different layers to be created instead of having a flat layout. 

To finish off I added some stitching around my boarder using my sewing machine and a few little splatters of yellow just to finish it off. 

My second layout is similar in it's foundation but the same tips are applied. This was a fun layout to put together as I got to use a little of most of the papers in the collection to create a feature at the bottom of the layout. 

As you can see I mounted my photo, my title 'back to school' really stands out and my embellishments have created a strip down the edge of the page. 

I loved creating the feature at the bottom of the page. I did this by cutting some strips and then using my sewing machine stitched along the edges of the strips. This added some lovely detail and help the layout come together. 

A combination of die cut pieces, puffy stickers and cardstock stickers helped this little feature on the layout come together. It was a good indicator of what I am sure floats around in my beautiful boys mind.
