Mixed media with the inkpads | Else Huinink
Hi lovely Pinkfresh friends!
I'm so glad you're able to join me today with this simple mixed media layout, made with the ink cubes from Pinkfresh Studio and the Floral tile background cutfile!
I struggled with this layout at first, it just didn't seem to work out. I decided to sleep on it and try again the next day. Do you recognize this as well?
The next day I changed my pictures, grabbed a new sheet of white cardstock and started again. These pictures of my second son match the Days of splendor collection better, so that seemed to do the trick...
I used the packaging technique for the splash of color behind the photos and cutfiles. The colors that I used are: Candy apple, Passion fruit and Coral reef.
I tried mixing the red Candy apple with the brown color Doe and Gathered twigs, to make a brownish red color. When it dried it became more purple then brown or red.
It wasn't what I had in mind at first, but I decided to go with it because there is a lot of purple in this collection!
The cutfile is in a square design, but I turned it to a diamond shape. I love this white on white detail. It adds interest without adding more colors to the layout.
I only embellished around my pictures with the different elements of the collection; diecuts, cardstock flair, puffy stickers and the cardstock stickers. I limited the colors by choosing mainly red, beige and brown embellishments.
In the end I used the dark purple enamel dots and the purple puffy alpha stickers for my title, to tie in that purple watercolor on the background.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you have fun with the Days of Splendor collection and be sure to share it with us on the socials... Have a nice day and stay safe.
XO Else
