Hey there, friends! Missy Whidden here, and I have a few layouts to share today featuring the new Out and About collection. This is a beautiful travel line, and I couldn't wait to scrap a few of my vacation photos! I began this first layout with an exclusive Pinkfresh Studio cut file that will be released very soon, so keep an eye out for it. I cut it on white cardstock and did some mixed media work behind it. I used some gesso, light blue acrylic paint and the Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors to create a big colorful circle to fit behind the globe.
I did some machine stitching along the globe lines to add some fun detail. All of the embellishments in this collection are awesome, and I used a mix of circle elements to compliment the globe's shape. I used Ephemera Die Cuts, Puffy Stickers, Enamel Shapes and Cardstock Stickers to create fun clusters.
The bottom of the cut file has a beautiful set of florals and leaves. I used the Liquid Watercolors to paint them to match the reds and yellows in the embellishments and papers. Here I created another cluster to the left of my photo along with some tangled thread for a pop of color and texture.
My photo was the perfect size to tuck inside one of the Stitched Frames. Those are the best because they are already layered and stitched!
I added a few stickers and an enamel circle sticker above the photo.
For my second page, I scrapped about a road trip my husband and I took from Las Vegas to Phoenix last year. I thought the Scenic Route paper was perfect for this. I tore a big chunk of it and adhered it to some textured white cardstock. I added some white gesso to prep the paper for the Liquid Watercolors. I went with lots of blues and aquas to pull all those colors from the photos. I also used the Adore Alpha Die Set to create some skinny letters for my background.
I went simple with the title and used the aqua Puffy Alphas from the collection. I used the white space to the right of the photo to add the title, some embellishments and my journaling. I love how it all fits together. I also added a bit of yellow stitching for some texture, detail and color.
Here you can see the fun detail that those big letters create on the background. I cut them on a darker color paper and then smudged them with some white gesso to lighten them up. I wanted the photos to overlap them. I layered some white tissue paper and some torn patterned papers behind my photos and then added a fun Travel Tag under the bottom one.
Here are the top letters. I did more of the same things up around the top photo. I decided to sort of frame the big city words with some messy yellow stitching.
Here's one last close up of the background. I added more Liquid Watercolor splatters in matching colors.
I hope these projects inspire you in some way. It was fun to scrap these photos using this travel line. There really are a ton of embellishments to use, no matter what your vacation!
Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you again soon!
