Make It Merry with December Days!

Make It Merry with December Days!

Santa Claus is coming town in less than two months!!  Are you ready to get in the Christmas spirit?  Christmas crafting is always fun, whether your documenting photos on layouts, making hand-made gifts or creating your own custom gift wrap.  No matter what you're working on this Christmas, the December Days collection is perfect for all of your holiday crafting needs!  I'm stopping in today, to share two layouts with you, using this very merry collection!

Most of us have traditions that we celebrate every year at Christmas time.  One of ours is letting the kids open Christmas pj's on Christmas Eve.  I loved the photo from last year's Christmas, but the colors were a bit crazy with the tree in the background and three different sets of jammies, so I decided to change the photo to black & white.  I always think black & white adds a nostalgic look and you're able to pair your photo with any colors from the collection you're using.

I used the fun Starry Night patterned paper for the background of my layout.  I wanted most of the stars to remain visible, so I decided to create a visual triangle design, with three different clusters.  I started with the photo cluster, since it would be the main focus on the layout.  I placed several embellishments around the photo, to make it stand out.

Since I went with the visual triangle design, I thought it would be fun to create a split title also.  I placed the word Christmas next to the photo, as a part of the main cluster.  Then I added the word Jammies to the lower left of the layout.  I finished the layout by placing a few embellishments around the word Jammies and completing the smallest cluster at the top left of the page.

The idea for my second layout, started with the large snowflake from the Gold Foiled Chipboard Frames.  I wanted to use it as a layered piece under my photo.  I decided to place it in the top left corner of the layout.  The placement of the snowflake and photo, inspired the diagonal look of the layout.

Anytime you're looking for a quick and easy title for a layout or project, check out the Die Cuts pack.  I used the Making Spirits Bright die cut piece for the title of my layout, and placed it directly under the photo.  I also brought a little more interest to the photo with a phrase sticker and Foiled Woodgrain Sticker.

For the rest of the diagonal look, I mixed more of the Gold Foiled Die Cuts, Puffy Stickers, Wooden Buttons and Stickers.  I always like to use a variety of embellishments to create different textures and dimension on a layout!

I hope you've been inspired with some ideas for your upcoming Christmas projects this year! And if you haven't had a chance to pick up the December Days collection, now is the perfect time to add it to your Christmas wish list!!
