Inspired by Rainbow Stripes, 2 layouts featuring Out And About

Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends!  It's Jung here, and today I'm sharing 2 layouts that I created using the new Out and About collection.  One of my favorite pieces from the whole collection is the New Places pattern paper (the one with rainbow stripes).  I love it, and was so inspired by it!

For my first layout, I wanted to document baby girl's first airplane ride (who is now 2 years old).  I used the New Places paper as inspiration, and I decided to add some machine stitching in stripes and in a rainbow pattern on a piece of white cardstock.  Originally I had planned to cut off the tails of the thread, but then decided that I kind of like the fringed look, so I just trimmed the pieces that were too long.

I was also inspired by all the circles on the Explore pattern paper.  Using some metal nesting dies, I die cut a few circles from the pattern papers in this collection, as well as my 2 photos.  I decided to frame my 2 photos by making a circle frame using 2 nesting circles dies and white cardstock.

I arranged all the circles on my layout until I liked how things looked.  I adhered some of the circles with double sided tape, and others with foam squares to add a bit of interest and dimension.  To embellish my layout I pulled out some circle embellishments and airplane themed embellishments.  I also used some of the enamel dots from this collection, as well as some enamel dots from Pinkfresh Studio's previous collections to complete my rainbow.

For my title, I chose the "going places" banner sticker, and then I added "She's" using the tiny puffy alpha stickers from the Everyday Musings collection.

To finish off my layout, I added a strip of the rainbow striped paper to the bottom of my page.

I'm so happy with how this layout turned out!  I hope you are inspired as well.

For my second layout, I documented a quick stop to Mt. Scott in OK.  I am using a Pinkfresh Studio cut file called travel tags, which will be available for free in the Pinkfresh Studio Fan group soon if it's not up already.  I used 2 of the cut file tags: one has a mountain scene, and the other says Wander.  I backed those tags with the rainbow striped New Places pattern paper.

I decided that I wanted to create a background of tags, so I added the cut file tags, and a few tags from the Travel tags pack, as well as a pieces that I cut out from the Bucket List paper to look like tags.  I arranged them randomly, in different directions, and in different sizes, with some hanging off the edges.

Next I added my 2 photos with foam squares to elevate them off the tags.  I framed one of the photos with one of the stitched frames.  The frames come with cute ephemera stitched onto them, but since my photo is so close up, they blocked a couple faces.  I just tore the ephemera off, leaving the stitching in place.

To finish off my layout, I embellished the tags and the frames with some of the same pieces from the collection that I used from the first layout.

I love how my projects turned out, and I hope you do too.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to check out the Out and About collection!  Have a happy day!
