Winter & Christmas Layout Inspiration | Kathleen Graumüller
Hey friends, it's Kathleen back with you and today I have two more layouts with the beautiful Holiday Vibes collection for you. And just like last time, I have one that features more of a winter-y color scheme, and another page with the traditional Christmas colors.
I was creating these two layouts at the same time as the last two pages I shared, so I already had my Silhouette die cutting machine out. To be honest, that doesn't happen too often (I'm usually too lazy to get it out and set up..), so I decided to take advantage of it and cut some more things with it for my layouts.
By the way, did you know that you can get some free cutfiles in the Pinkfresh Studio Facebook group? Make sure to join to get those goodies and lots more Pinkfresh inspiration!
For the first layout I used a cutfile (Design ID #69717) that was intended for card-size, but I just resized it and cut it on an 8.5"x11" white cardstock. I used the letter "O" in JOY to put my photo behind it. I knew I wouldn't have enough space to put it anywhere else on the page, so this seemed like a good place to put it.
I mainly used the Love and Peace paper (for the leaves) and the Magical Forest paper (for most of the berries) to back this cutfile. Because the leaves and berries are already very bright and bold, I didn't want to add any more bright colors. So I had a look into the Indigo Hills 2 collection and found the Gorge paper's backside was perfect for the twigs and the light pink watercolor wash part of the Glen paper for the word JOY.
The layout didn't really need much more, but I couldn't resist adding in a few embellishments in matching colors here and there. I used some enamel dots, an epoxy wood button, chipboard stickers, puf#fy stickers and of course some of the gorgeous ephemera pieces. I am really quite happy with the little cluster at the bottom of my wreath. :)
Finally, to add some more dimension and texture, I used adhesive foam to pop up some of the pieces, and I also curled up some leaves and stitched through them with my sewing machine and golden thread.
As I said, the second layout is more of a winter-page, but I also added in some of the reds and greens from the Holiday vibes collection. I arranged the cutfile (Design ID #236947) in a vertical line to the left of my layout. I used a few of the Holiday Vibes papers to back some of the stars, but I also kept some of them empty so that the ink I had blended on the background would show through.
For the DAY part of my title I just used a font from my library and cut it from the Merry Christmas paper, and then added the SNOW part with the golden alphabet stickers from Indigo Hills 2. The little flag/banner with FAMILY is part of a puffy sticker that I used to add a pop of green to this part of the layout.
And again, to finish off this layout, I added some matching small embellishments (enamel dots, epoxy circle stickers, etc.), some paint splatters and my journaling.
I hope you enjoyed these two layouts! I am in love with both of them and I must admit that all of the layouts I created with the Holiday Vibes collection are among my favourite pages that I made this year!
I wish you all a great week and a Merry Christmas!
XO, Kathleen
