Happy Sweet Layout featuring the new Just A Little Lovely collection
Hey friends! Today I'm sharing a new layout using the new Just A Little Lovely collection. I absolutely love the B sides of the pattern papers in this collection; they are beautiful watercolor backgrounds. If you love the look of watercolors on the backgrounds, but are a little afraid of mixed media, I highly encourage you to check these papers out!
My daughter just turned 9, and I did a layout for her.
I used the Around Here pattern paper for my background. I love this paper so much as is, so I didn't want to do to much to it. I did add some watercolor (mixed with a little white gesso) splatters. Next, I adhered my two photos to the background.
For my title, I used the Puffy Phrase Stickers and the white Puffy Alpha Stickers to say Happy Sweet Nine. I wanted to add just a hint of color to the white puffy alphas, so I painted the letters with some watered down Bubble Gum Pink watercolor, and wiped it off before dry. It left just the tiniest hint of pink, and I really like the way it turned out. I added some machine stitching to the white alpha as well, for a bit more detail. For my journaling, I wanted to write a letter to my daughter, as a different way to include some of her favorites at nine.
I was already liking my layout the way it was, but I decided to embellish the 2 photos a bit. I added an acetate foiled flower to each photo corner, a puffy flower sticker, a couple epoxy circle stickers from the mixed ephemera pack, and a few enamel dots.
I really wanted my photo and that background paper to shine, so I kept the embellishing really simple. I am super happy with how it turned out. These products from the Just A Little Lovely collection are so beautiful, you really don't need much!
I hope you like the way my layout turned out!
Also, here is a sneak peek at a project I made for the July challenge. Check back on July 7th when the challenge goes live to see the full project!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a lovely day!
