Handmade Embellishments & Tags with Indigo Hills 2
Hello Pinkfresh friends! Lorilei here today! I dove into my bag of Indigo Hills 2 from Pinkfresh Studio and decided to make some embellishments that I could easily add to a traveler's notebook spread, a card or a scrapbook layout. I honestly love to just "make" and all the pieces of Indigo Hills 2 are so gorgeous, you can't go wrong mixing and matching!
Library card pockets are one of my favorite embellishments to make. I love to tuck journaling into them so that my stories are not immediately available on a page, hidden journaling if you will. I cut the deep purple paper to the size that would fit the journal tag, and before I sewed the edges, I punched a heart from what would be the front of the pocket and added a piece of vellum behind it for a peek a boo spot. I punched a notch at the top with a circle punch and added a circle sticker on the journal tag to echo the notch. One tiny chipboard heart finished off this pocket. The happy thoughts puffy sticker was perfect for an envelope I made from the gorgeous "Glen" floral paper. The square pocket was made to fit another journal tag. I used vellum to make a pocket and stitched it together. I used chipboard and a die cut on top to decorate it! The next piece is a simple tag made from the Valley paper with some crepe paper and a floral die cut.
The collect adventures pocket is made from the Valley paper and holds one of the journal tags that come in the collection. I made some simple layered and stitched hearts to embellish!
I got out my banner flag punches and made use of the scrap pieces of 12x12 paper I had leftover. I love little bunting strands as it is a great way to add lots of patterns and interest! To embellish this tag, I added a tiny puffy heart sticker and the love banner sticker. I cut the tag from the Glen paper and added an eyelet for a pop of bling.
Next up are the leaf tag pocket and a heart tag. I think these two are my favorites! I used the Mesa paper for the pocket and added tiny enamel dots to the leaves where they meet the stem. It is a very simple pocket but so pretty! I added three layered and stitched hearts to the tag i cut from the Gorge paper, I added a white eyelet to give the tag a more polished finish!
I love the colors in this collection. I encourage you to have a play with your collection and make some ready to use embellishments. They will be unique and useful for those times you want to make something but don't have tons of time!
