FRIENDS FOR LIFE MINI ALBUM I KERSTIN SCHEIDLER

Hello! Kerstin here today and sharing with you a Mini Album with the beautiful "Simply The Best" collection.

My son was on vacation with his friends and wanted a memory album from me. The "Simply The Best" collection came just at the right time! These colors and patterns but also embellishments fit perfectly to my idea of a vacation mini!

I wanted to make a mini album in which many photos but also handwritten fits, but which will also take my son in hand.

Now I sit there and think how to explain to you this amazing mini. I'll try and do my best! YES!

Let's get started!

I chose 6 x 6 inches as the cover size with a spine width of 3/4 inch. But the spine could also have been 1 inch wide. I covered my cardstock with the amazing striped paper from the 12 x 12 "Simply The Best" Paperpack. The black frame, words and leaves are from the Ephempera pack. I also used Cardstock Flair, Puffy Stickers and Cardstock Frames to decorate my cover. The fringes to the left of the cardstock frame are made from a piece of matching colored paper.

Now comes the part I'm most afraid of ... how can I describe what I have done! I promise you I give my very best!

I made the inside so that it is foldable. To do this, I cut white cardstock as base at 11 1/2 x 5 inches and folded at 5 1/5 and 6 inches. So I have 2 pages of the same size with a half inch center. Below you can see how I cut and folded the next pages of white cardstock.

Side 2: 10 1/4 x 5 inches - folded at 5 and 5 1/4 inches.
Page 3: 9 1/4 x 4 1/2 inch - folded at 4 1/2 and 5 inch
Page 4: 8 1/4 x 4 inch - folded at 4 and 4 1/4 inch
Page 5: 7 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch - folded at 3 1/2 and 3 3/4 inch
Page 6: 6 1/4 x 3 inch - folded at 3 and 3 1/4 inch

So I have pages of the same size each with a small section in between.

Here you can see how the Mini looks like unfolded.

On the base I glued "Page 2" centered on the left side to fold out down.
Then glue "Page 3" on the bottom of "Page 2" to fold out to the right, also in the center.
On "Page 3" left glue "Page 4" to unfold upwards.
At the top of "Page 4", center "Page 5" to unfold to the right.
At "Page 5" right, glue on "Page 6" centered to unfold downward.

I hope this is understandable. I usually make a pattern and try before I handle the beautiful papers.

Folded and decorated it looks like this! I have played with the most different Embellishemnts from the "Simply The Best" collection. I show you now a few of my decorated pages.

Here are endless possibilities to design the pages so that it fits the chosen theme!

Here I took an empty embellishment bag to store photos. Glued on and decorated with a few embellishments, photos or other can be stored.

Here I cut a piece of white cardstock - slightly smaller than my base - decorated Vellum (glued to the back) with the "Simply The Best" Enamel Dots. A photo or ticket can be slid in here. I love the way it looks!

I especially like this page! As a little gimmick, I cut a cardstock frame in half on the last page. I punched three cardstock flairs and pulled a yarn through and knotted it. I then placed the yarn on my page and glued the halved frame on tightly. I cut out the half circle under the frame. On the back, I glued matching vellum to the other half of the cardstock frame and adhered it. I decorated with some Cut Outs form this cool paper. Tim loved this little gimmick!

I also have to show the home page. It's already fun to open the album.

I hope I can inspire you to try this flip album and fill it with your memories. I'm definitely excited to see your minis!

See you soon!

Kerstin xx
