Dog Mama, clipboard mini album featuring the Just a Little Lovely collection
Hello crafty friends! It's Jung here, and today I'm sharing a cute mini album that I made with the Just a Little Lovely collection. I wanted to make a mini album about my love of dogs, and I wanted to use a different shape. I've already made different sized rectangle, circle, and tag mini albums, so I decided to use the new Clipboard with Botanicals cut file, which is now available in the Pinkfresh shop.
To construct my foundation pages, I worked with the cut file. I decided to make my album about 4 x 6 inches, so I sized the cut file to fit that size. Using my silhouette machine, I cut the complete cut file with white cardstock. Next, I deconstructed the cut file. I cut just the outside edge/ shape of the cut file with some of the pattern papers in the Just a Little Lovely collection, as well as a few coordinating cardstock colors from my stash. I absolutely love the watercolor sides of these papers! I cut the outer rim of the cutfile from white cardstock to create a frame for the pattern paper. I also cut just the clip piece from both white and gold cardstock.
For my title page, I decided to use the entire cut file. I glued it onto one of the pattern paper shapes that I cut. I decided to inlay the botanical part of the cut file with pattern paper. I went back to the cut file, isolated just the inner pieces of the botanicals, and cut it with some of the pattern paper in green and pink. Once I glued all the pieces in, I added some splatter with Pinkfresh Studio sapphire watercolor. I splashed on some gold watercolor from my stash as well. For my title, I fussy cut the banners from the ChitChat pattern paper, and used the puffy alpha stickers. To embellish the title page, I added an epoxy sticker, a few enamel dots, and I stamped one of the tiny floral images from the Pinkfresh Lovely Blossoms stamp set. Finally, I glued on a gold clip that I had previously cut.
Last minute, I decided to use one of the tags in the ephemera pack. Instead of it saying "the world is a better pace with you," I decided to cover up the you with dogs to say "the world is a better place with dogs." I just printed the word out on my computer (it took me a couple tries to get the size right), and I adhered it right on top with foam squares. I love it!
For my dog pages, I tried to keep them pretty consistent so that my album looks cohesive. I glued the white outer white frame to the pattern paper shape, then a gold clip on top. I added some subtle tone on tone texture by stamping some of the smaller images from the same Lovely Blossoms stamp set and/or adding watercolor splatters.
For all the photos, I used a piece of pattern paper to layer behind it. I also diecut my favorite scalloped edge from the Lacey Edgers 1 die set out of white cardstock, and I added it as a layer behind the photos.
Just like the title page, I used some of the banners that I fussy cut and the puffy alpha stickers to spell out my pups' names. I used foam squares to pop up the name banners, and I adhered a phrase sticker right under.
I embellished the pages with a variety of puffy stickers, fussy cut flowers, acetate flowers, epoxy stickers, and enamel dots.
For the opposite side (the back of the page in front of it), I decided to keep it simple. I glued on the cardstock shape that I had previously diecut in a coordinating color, and glued on a white clip. I didn't want the pages to get too thick, so I opted to leave the white frame around the edge off the cardstock. I diecut a simple heart from pattern paper, and I glued on word strips that I printed off the computer, describing the pup on the coordinating page. I had a lot more space than I thought I would, so I may print off some more qualities.
Here's a little closer look at one of the dog pages:
Since the cut file already cuts out a hole, I just put them on an O ring, and tied on some pretty yarn.
I absolutely love how this mini layout turned out! I love my pups, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have a mini album dedicated to them. (My daughters love this mini too!)
I hope you like my mini as well, and I've inspired you to get crafting. If you have a silhouette machine, I highly recommend you check out the cut files available for purchase on the Pinkfresh shop. They coordinate perfectly with the scrapbook collections.
Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
