Cover Page and Cards with Carson

Cover Page and Cards with Carson

20 Jan 2016 0 Comments

Hello readers and friends!  It's Carson here, and I'm so very excited to be sharing my first few projects with you using the Felicity and Life Noted Collections.  I knew the moment I laid eyes on the Life Noted collection that I would be using most of it in my pocket page album.  The collection is so colorful and full of fabulous words and phrases that I couldn't resist diving right in and creating a cover page for my 2016 album.

I started building the page by pulling out the Life Noted 3x4 journaling cards and the rainbow of acetate words. After pulling out all my favorites from both products, I started to map out my page.  The title card came together very quickly with the gorgeous yellow alpha stickers and putting them all on the lined aqua paper made it very easy to keep everything neat and square.

The next product I reached for were the Felicity watercolor phrase stickers and I absolutely adore how they add some subtle color to my spread amidst all the bold words.  The phrases are all very lovely and quite original and I may have gone a little overboard when sticking them around the page.

I finally decided that there needed to be a bit more than just words on my spread so I dug into the die-cut pieces from the Felicity Collection and found the birds and houses to be a sweet and perfect, finishing touch.  I couldn't be happier with this cover page and now every time I look at it, I know I'll get very motivated to dive into my album and keep up with the memories.

For my second project I created two sweet and feminine cards using the Felicity Collection.  I love all the warm colors in the collection and focused on the pinks, yellows and oranges for the two cards you see here.

The card below came about as I played with layering the die-cuts from the collection.  I began building the components of the tag and then worked backward to create a fun background for it.  Once I had decided on the pink heart, I sewed some very messy stitching inside the heart and then attempted to highlight it even more by creating some faux stitch marks with a black pen.  I love all the sweet birds in the collection and may have used every last one in this first month of projects.

For this next card I got a little carried away with the Felicity Washi Stickers.  I began by laying out all the warm colored strips in a stacked pattern on the card front and sewed them down.  I then layered in some of the watercolor phrase stickers and used the Happy Spring die-cut as my primary sentiment.  The puffy asterisks were that perfect final embellishment.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today.  I hope you're as excited as I am about using Felicity and Life Noted, two stunning collections to be sure.

See you next time

Carson
