Tomorrow Will Be A Better Day
Hi everyone! It's Anne here, I'm up on Pinkfresh's blog today with a card that I made using a lovely new flower stamp, Thankful for Friends, an encouraging sentiment and some of Pinkfresh's pretty watercolors.
Getting started I stamped the flower image down onto some watercolor paper using a sticky ink making sure to stamp a few times, then it was heat embossed with copper embossing powder. I pulled out the Candy Apple and Sapphire watercolors and a palette to make a sort of plum shade for the large bloom. I decided on a peachy pink for the smaller bloom and a turquoise for the stem and leaves. It was fun mixing and matching drops of colors to get just the shades I was looking for. After it was dry the image was cut out with the accompanying Thankful for Friends die, and set aside.
I chose an ivory cardstock from Simon Says Stamp for the card base and used blender brushes to ink shades of ballet slipper and lavender mostly on one side of the card, I tried to leave a space for where I planned on putting the sentiment. The paint spatter went (all over my table!) down next. When that was dry I grabbed another piece of ivory cardstock, layered it onto some pink paper and adhered them down onto one side of the card base.
The flower got two layers of foam tape to pop it up. And I decided to put that lovely sentiment on vellum because any solid color paper that I placed there ended up looking too bold. The sentiment is on the new Sending Love and Hugs stamp set. I thought the coppery colored jewels from Pinkfresh's Jewels Mix, scattered across the card added a nice final touch.
I love sharing with you some of my design choices and hope that this inspires you to make something new today!

This is such a beautiful card. I am not confident on using watercolors. I am barely learning to use markers:-)) The blending of colors to get the plum was on point. The paint splatter almost looks silver. Cool!
