Streching our your square dies

Streching our your square dies

Hello Pinkfresh friends!

I'm back again on the blog using the recently released Nested Squares Diagonal Stitch die. Square dies are really versatile. I love having the option to create these cards instead of the traditional A2 size. You can also create A2 size cards and add some square die cut elements or use the square die cuts to create a whole background for your design.

For my first project I ink blended  the largest die of the Nested Squares Diagonal Stitch die with Waterfall ink using the 1" blending brush. I applied more ink on the edges of the square creating a soft transition to the white center of this panel. I cut out a square frame out of light blue cardstock using the second and third larger dies of this set.

To add some interest to my background I cut out a panel with the Dotted Lattice Cover plate die and adhered it to my background.I foam mounted the light blue frame onto the front panel and decorated it using flowers and leaves from the Garden Party die and stencil set. I colored these flowers with Waterfall, Turquioise, ParadiseMermaid Cove,  Grassy Knoll and Olive.

The sentiment I used is from the Kindness in Bloom stamp set.

For my second project I also created two square frames with the medium squares and glued them creating a double diamond shape:

I foam mounted these frames onto a panel I had dry embossed with the Charming Stitched Florals Coverplate die. I also decided to partially ink this front panel with Waterfall ink since I wanted to match this background with the colors of my flowers.

I chose the Garden party stencil and die set to decorate my square frames and used several blue, green and purple inks to color them: Paradise, Grassy Knoll, Olive, Soft Lilac, Sky Blue and Sweet Mustard.

I arranged my flowers and leaves creating small bouquets and placed them creating a visual triangle on the edges of my square frames. The sentiment I used is from the Beautiful Branch stamp set.

As a final touch I adhered some Turquoise clear drops

For my final project I created another frame cut out of white cardstock and used it to secure and portrait a rainbow of leaves. I always add some texture to my front panels and this time was no exception. I dry embossed my 4" by 4" inch panel with the Floral Square Frame Press Plate. I colored and die cut a bunch of leaves using the Garden Party Stencil and die set.

I used several colors to bring these leaves to life: Raspberry Bliss, Candy Violet, Wisteria, Paradise, Tide pool, Aquamarine, Olive, Grassy Knoll, Limoncello, Citron, Sweet Mustard, Bay Leaf, Sunkissed, Mimosa and Cherry Blossom.

I arranged all my leaves around the square making sure I left enogh space in the center to place my sentiment. Once all the leaves were all in place, I foam mounted the white square frame on top and adhered some small flowers and leaves to add some more interest to this square wreath.

Finally I adhered the sentiment from the Playful Petals Stamp set.

I hope these designs gave you some ideas to stretch your Nested Square Diagonal stitch dies.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Raquel
