Red Sparkle & Magenta for Christmas
Hi guys! It's Anne here up on the blog today with a card that was made with the sweet Inna Alpha stamp, stencil and die, combined with Pinkfresh's Diagonal Stripes hot foil plate. Christmas cards are the perfect excuse to pull out some of those sparkly embossing powders and combine them with boldly colored inks or hot foils!
This time I started my card by looking through some of the cardstock and product that I have and realizing that I've never used some of it. So I pulled out my Inna Alpha stamp set and stamped it onto some llight pink cardstock using Versamark just to watermark the letters. Then I lined up the coordinating stencil set to color in just the pretty little flowers on each of the letters. Then I put the stenciled images back in my stamping platform (which still had the stamp in it, so it lined up perfectly) and heat embossed with a red sparkly embossing powder.
For the background I used Pinkfresh's Diagonal Stripes hot foil plate with a magenta Glimmer hot foil on schoolhouse red cardstock. It was kind of a bold choice for me, but I loved how it turned out. It was die cut with Diagonal Stitched Rectangles and adhered down to a dark pink card base.
I arranged the letters around a red sparkle wreath using Leafy Circle and specialty paper. Then I pulled out another favorite of mine, the Leafy Branch, with yet another shade of pink paper and more schoolhouse red. I curled some of the leaves using a small paintbrush handle, layered them together and glued them down around the NOEL sentiment.
I added bling, Bubblegum Jewels and red Crystals, then I was done. If you've got some sparkly, shiny, boldly colored product that you've been shy about using, Christmas is the perfect time of the year to experiment with them and have fun!
I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today, thank you so much for coming by!
