Radiating Snowflakes: several options | Raquel Arribas

Radiating Snowflakes: several options | Raquel Arribas

Happy Friday friends!

I'm so excited to be back on the blog to share with you some ideas using the new Radiating Snowflake Press Plate, Stencil and die set.

There is so much you can do with this set...I went a little bit overboard and created several cards using these three products:

First up, I used the Radiating Snowflake stencil to apply some ink onto the Snowflake die cut I had previously cut out. I had planned to apply Nuvo Moonstone glitter paste after ink blending the snowflake so I thought it'd be better to apply the ink and the glitter paste onto the die cut to prevent it from being flattened when running it through my die cutting machine.

To color this snowflake I used Sky blue, Waterfall, Slumber, Soft Lilac and Candy Violet. Then I applied the glitter paste on top and foam mount it onto another snowflake I had cut out of glacier glitter cardstock. Next up I inked a 4x4 inch square panel with the same colors I used for my snowflake and cut it out with the Stitched Scallop Square die. I foam mounted the inner square onto the square card base and inlaid the center piece. Finally I adhered my snowflake on top and added my sentiment from the set Deck the Halls.

Following the same steps I created another square card using: Sky Blue, Slumber, Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll and Waterfall. I wanted to step up a notch my background so before ink blending it with the same colors of my snowflake, I used Opal Glimmer foil and foiled it with the Radiating Snowflake Press Plate

Another idea to use this Radiating Snowflake stencil and die is to foam mount one of them on top of the other and offset it a bit to create a bigger snowflake image.

That's what I did on this card. As on my previous cards I first applied the ink: Ballet Slipper, Soft Lilac, Waterfall and Turquoise and then applied some glitter paste. Next up I inked my background with Spruce Tips and cut it out with the Blanket Stitched Square die set. The sentiment I used is from the Holiday Bicycle stamp set.

For my last square card I combined the Blanket Stitched Square die and theStitched Scallop Square die. The colors I used for this snowflake are: Ballet Slipper, Peony, Sweet Mustard, Grassy knoll, Ocean Breeze and Waterfall. The sentiment is also from the Deck the Halls stamp set.

These snowflakes could easily be used as ornaments for your holiday gifts or you could even hang them on your Christmas tree. To create these ornaments I cut out a snowflake out of folded square cardstock making sure I placed the snowflake die a little bit unter the edge of the folding line so the snowflake could be open and had more stability. Next I applied some Nuvo Pink Novalie glitter paste, Nuvo Frostbite Glacier Paste and gllitter and Nuvo Glitteratti gold glitter paste onto a cream, light pink and light blue cardstock.

Another way to add color to the snowflake is using the Radiating Snowflake Press Plate. I applied Candy Apple, Peony, Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll and Olive onto this press plate and run it through my die cutting machine.

For my background I used the new Festive Grid Coverplate die. I created  a mask to color each section and randomly applied ink in some of the grids. I foam mounted my colorful snowflake on top and placed this panel onto another panel which I had white heat embossed with the Poinsettia Frame Cling Stamp. To add some interest to the card base, I created two thin stripes with the Border stencils to add the same colors I used on my snowflake.

For my last project I wanted to use the Radiating Snowflake Press plate to hot foil this image. I used Rainbow Confetti Glimmer hot foil. I didn't want to add too many other elements to this design as the rainbow itself is just lovely with all its colors. I simply added some touches of Ocean Breeze, Waterfall, Sweet Mustard and Candy Apple to the edges of the background. I used the negative piece of a panel I had die cut with the largest of the Nested Arches dies .

I white heat embossed on vellum the new Magical Holiday Stamp and arranged it under my arched window panel to add some texture.

Finally I added some glitter drops. I used Blossom, Lagoon, Aqua and Magenta. I white heat embossed my sentiment from the Magical Holiday stamp set onto blue cardstock.

This Radiating Snowflake set is so versatile so I I hope these ideas inspire you to use it.

Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

Raquel
