Crafting Nature: Explore Pinkfresh Studio's Overlapping Geo Leaf Stencil Set | Angela Simpson
Hi Pinkfresh friends! It's Angela here, coming at you with a card featuring a few of the new items from the latest November release. My favorite releases are ones with suites that include a hot foil background design, layering stencil and die, so seeing the Overlapping Geo Leaf design sent me into a little happy dance!
To get started, I heated up my hot foiling machine and picked out my color palette while I waited - Pinkfresh inks in Ballet Slipper, Coral Reef, Emerald City and Evergreen. I foiled the Overlapping Geo Leaf plate in gold (although rose gold or blush foil would have also been great options) and used my blending brushes to apply ink with the layering stencil set.
Once finished, this panel on its own could have been the background for my card. But because I love dimension and can't seem to make a card without using foam tape, I used the coordinating Overlapping Geo Leaf die to cut out the design. I popped it forward on a white A2 card base with foam tape, then moved onto the sentiment and floral.
The You're the Best stamp set includes 3 floral images that are on the smaller side, and that's what I was looking for because I didn't want to cover up too much of the background. I heat embossed one of the images on light pink cardstock, then used the You're the Best stencil set to apply some subtle highlights to the flower with Ballet Slipper ink. I paired this with a sentiment from the same set, which I stamped on a die cut made with a circle from the Mini Slimline Essentials die set.
I positioned the sentiment towards the bottom third of the card, layering it over a piece of gold cardstock that I made with the Solid Hot Foil Plate and the same foil used for the Overlapping Geo Leaf background. After adhering the small flower on top, I finished with a few little blush Glitter Drops.
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my project today. I hope it's inspired you to spend some time playing in your craft room. See you back here soon! - Angela
