Hi friends! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have some lovely icy blue monochromatic inspiration with lots of layers and textures. I always try to add multiple layers of height and different textures to my monochromatic cards to allow for as much definition between the elements as possible. I am trying to use more of the sets that haven't seen any attention from me (just not enough hours in the day!) and so I pulled out the lovely
Wildflower Bouquet set. The product suite features stamps, stencils, and coordinating dies, all using that fabulous stamp once feature that we love from Pinkfresh Studio. Let's get started with the details on my project!
To start, I stamped the floral elements from the Wildflower Bouquet stamp set using
Paradise ink onto some crisp, super pale blue cardstock. Using my MISTI, I stamped directly over the top again with the same stamp, this time using sticky embossing ink. I added some sheer iridescent blue embossing powder over the top, adding a unique, iridescent shine to the images and creating beautiful, shimmery texture. I used the coordinating stencils to add some lovely monochromatic color using
Turquoise, Paradise, and Atlantis inks. Once I had added the degrees of pale blue color to the stamped images, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images, as well as some of the standalone foliage images using some of Pinkfresh's
Aqua glitter cardstock.
For the background, I used the absolutely gorgeous Ornate Trellis Press Plate to do some hot foiling. I hot foiled Skybright foil, a lovely pale shade of icy aqua blue, onto some more of the same pale ice blue cardstock that I used for the florals, then used the coordinating die to die cut the background. Using some thin foam adhesive squares, I popped up the intricate hot foiled, die cut background onto another panel of the same pale blue cardstock, creating a lovely tone-on-tone background.
Before arranging my florals, I die cut a vellum panel using the
Nested Arches dies, then used the small notch dies included with the Wildflower Bouquet
dies. I threaded a thin aqua silk ribbon through the notches, and, before tying, arranged my floral die cuts in a bouquet, keeping the glittered die cuts in the back and allowing the stenciled die cuts to be in the front. I tied the silk ribbon into a bow, creating a lovely and delicate hand-tied bouquet! For the greeting, I stamped and embossed a sentiment from
Wildflower Bouquet using the same ink and embossing powder combination used for the flower. I popped up the greeting on over the spot where the flower stems crossed, then added a few sparkling Aqua Glitter Drops in the corners of the vellum panel for added sparkle!
Well, that's all for my project today! The new release is tomorrow, and there are so many gorgeous new items. You're not going to want to miss out! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
