Hot Foiled Floral Harmony | Jenny Colacicco

Hot Foiled Floral Harmony | Jenny Colacicco

Hi Everyone, it's Jenny,  and today I'm sharing two cards that both feature the pretty Floral Harmony die, paired with some gold hot foiling and coral ink blending.

I created the card on the left with the new Fancy Floral Print layering stencil. I love this stencil - such a fun bold print,  I just had to pair it with bold colors.  Using an ink blending tool, I blended Lemon Whip ink for the largest flowers,  very slightly edged with Coral Reef for a little dimension (which turns a pale orange over the Lemon).

I then overlaid them with Clementine. The small flowers and flower centers are Coral Reef and for the smaller details I actually stenciled with a gold gel  pen!  For the leaves I used Passion Fruit and then overlaid Berrylicious.  I trimmed the panel down to A2 and mounted onto a white notecard.

I die cut the Floral Harmony Die three times from white cardstock, and then took one of them, held it against some more cardstock and roughly cut around it (so that it didn't show at the edges). I completely covered this base layer in dry adhesive and then adhered one of my die cuts (with all the  pieces popped out). On a second, with the pieces still inside, I  ink blended those same colors again onto the pieces, coating each one, then inlaid each individual piece into the white die cut.  The dry adhesive kept it in place.

I popped the inlaid Floral Harmony onto the centre of my stenciled panel with foam tape.  My sentiment is the Celebrate Hot Foil foiled using my Spellbinders Glimmer machine in Matte Gold Glimmer hot foil. I die cut it out with the coordinating die and mounted it with foam tape onto my panel.   My sub-sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Sentiments set, heat embossed in white onto black cardstock, then mounted just under the Celebrate.  I finished with a few enamel dots from the Keeping It Real collection.

For my second card, I used the same inlaid technique as before with the Floral Harmony die, only this time I ink blended the negative part with the same colors, and inlaid with white.

To keep the background neutral, I hot foiled the Folk Garden hot foil plate in Matte Gold onto white cardstock and mounted it onto a white notecard. I then added the Floral Harmony die in the centre again with foam tape.

The sentiment is heat embossed in white on black. It's from the Joyful Bouquet stamp set, and I fussy cut out around the script wording.  To adhere,  I used foam squares, and popped a little nest of gold thread behind the piece. Once again, I finished with enamel dots.

Creating double card sets is always fun - not only does it give you more time to play, you can explore ideas for cards with a bit more liberty and see how just a tweak here or there creates a whole different look!

Have a great day and stay safe.
