Happy Monday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you another fun fold inspiration card made with a “Stepper & Hidden Note” effect using Indigo Roses Washi, Indigo Roses Die, and Indigo Roses Stamp for the floral frame and card sentiment. Along with this beautiful set, I used Sparkling Diamonds Die to add texture to the front and back of the card base. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started by trimming down an A2-size white card panel using my paper trimmer, and once I had that step done, I placed the card panel with the longest side horizontally over the scoreboard tool to get some scoring lines traced over it at 3/4, 1-1/2, 2-3/4, 4.0, and 4-3/4 inches point marks.

Next, as soon as, I had finished tracing the scoring lines over it using a Teflon bone folder, I proceeded to get the folding step for each scored line in mountain, valley, mountain, valley, and mountain. Thus, as soon as I had finished folding them all, I used the side of the bone folder to reinforce each fold. And then, I went ahead to confirm that the fun fold effect was perfectly done to move on to the next step.

Thus, after confirming that the fun fold effect was perfectly done, I went ahead to put it off to the side to get the top part of the card base attached to it. So, to do that first, I went ahead to trim down an A2 size top folding white card base using the paper trimmer to W 3-3/4 x H 5-1/4 inches.

Secondly, after getting the card base trimmed down, I went ahead to place flat open over the scoreboard tool to add a scoring line at a 1/2 inch point mark on each end. Thereby after adding the 1/2 inch scoring line on each end, I went ahead to fold them inwards, and then I added liquid glue to the outer parts of those folds to get them attached to the fun fold stepper effect. As to get it attached, I went ahead to carefully glue down the outer parts of the folds to each smaller section from the fun fold stepper effect but making sure to get it centered and without any adhesive in the center part of the fold. You will see later on how exactly this looks from a side view.

Moving on, after getting the rest of the card base attached to the fun fold stepper effect, I went ahead to use Sparkling Diamonds Die to add the texture to the front and back sides of the card base. Therefore, I went ahead to use the die-cut machine along with the dies to cut out and add the texture to two A2-size white card panels. So, right afterward when I got them trimmed down, I went ahead to get the smaller pieces trim down at W 4.0 x H 1/2. Then the later pieces at H 4-1/2 X W 3-1/2 inches however, I would like to mention that while I was getting them trimmed down, I kept in mind their pattern to have the continuous design on the bottom and top after I had gotten them to glue down just like you can see it in the image above. Having that said, after getting them glued down to one side of the card base, I repeated the same steps to add the texture on the other side of the card base.

So, after adding the texture to the back and front of the card, I proceeded to get the front of the card embellished using the die-cutting floral clusters created by using the Indigo Roses Washi and Indigo Roses Die. If you are familiar with all Washi-tape Rolls, you might know that all you have to do is to unroll the washi and get t tape down over a large piece of white cardstock. Then, use its coordinating die to cut out the images from the cardstock piece. By the way, I used two sets of floral images to get the exact images on the top and bottom plus the sides as well.

To continue, after cutting the floral images out from the cardstock pieces, I went ahead to create the floral frame over the front side of the card. But if you see closely, I left some of them hanging outside the panel so, I was careful while doing that by making sure that they did not go outside the 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 perimeter of the card base. Other than that, after getting the floral frame created over the front side of the card, I went ahead to add the card sentiment in the center of the frame. As for the card sentiment, I used one of the sentiments included in the coordinating stamp set. And then, I got it stamped with embossing ink and heat embossing with gold embossing powder over a piece of white cardstock. Next, I used its coordinating die to cut it out from the cardstock and to add dimension and a gold shadow to it as well.

At this point, the card base was completed but due to the card design and the texture added to the back of the card to have a more sophisticated look, I ended up not having space where to write a personal message so the following step is optional for you, as you can leave the back side without adding texture to write your message of the back of the card. Or you can create a mini note card and hide it inside the fun fold effect just like I did in today’s example.

So, for the note card, I went ahead to create a mini top folding card from a white card base with the following measurements H 4-1/2 X W 3-1/2 inches. Next, for the contusions look, I used the same die to add texture to the front side of the card base to create a smaller textured panel with the following measurements H 4-1/4 x 3-1/4. Lastly, after adding the texture to the mini-card panel, I went ahead to get it glued down to the mini-card base.

Lastly, to finish off the mini note card, I went ahead to use the largest floral image to get the front of it embellished and this is how the cards look from an upper view.

Also, here you have a side view where you can see not only the mini note card hidden inside the card base but also you can see why it was important to add the 1/2 inches folds to the ends of the largest top part of the card base as that step is crucial not only to get the bottom and top parts attached but also to get the full fun fold stepper effect completed.
