Cheerful Cosmos Bunch Card | Angela Simpson
Hey there friends! It's Angela here, back with a floral card featuring an older (but stunning) Pinkfresh suite, the Cosmos Bunch. This is one of those sets that I just didn't have time to play with when I first received it, and honestly, sort of forgot about until a recent cleaning of my craft room! But she's a beauty, and a joy to play with. Let's get to it!
To get started, I stamped the large Cosmos Bunch floral on white cardstock in Detail Black ink, and after cleaning it off, went on to create a heat embossed background panel on Kraft cardstock. This stamp is really big, which I love because making a background was super easy! With that piece heat set, I worked my way through the Cosmos Bunch stencil set, applying ink to the image I stamped in black on white carstock. Ink-wise, I chose a palette of Ballet Slipper, Passion Fruit, Olive, Evergreen, Apricot and Clementine.
Once the image was full of color, I used the coordinating die to cut it out. My plan was to adhere it to the left side of the background panel, which meant I needed a sentiment that would fit to the right. For this, I chose the "You make the good things even better" from the more recently-released Beyond Measure stamp set, and embossed it in white on deep plum cardstock for contrast. (This card had a lot going on, so I really wanted to ensure the words stood out.)
I decided to let that sentiment go past the right edge of my background panel, and tuck the blank part of the strip under the floral die cut. With my arrangement decided, I secured everything in place, mounting the background panel on an A2 card base with foam tape. As I mentioned, the card already had a lot going on in the background and foreground, so I decided to skip the embellishments this time. If you can't seem to make a card without embellishments though, I think a few clear droplets or jewels would be beautiful!
Thank you so much for stopping by today to check out this project, and I hope it's encouraged you to dig out some older items in your stash for your next crafting session. I'll see you back here soon! - Angela
