Celebrate Love Shaker | Anne Fiene

Celebrate Love Shaker | Anne Fiene

Hi everyone! It's Anne here up on the blog today with a pretty little  "Celebrate Love" shaker. I used one of Pinkfresh's layering stencil sets called Floral Print Circle. I love that it looks like a circle of pressed flowers.

With the first two stencils, the smaller blooms and their details, I used Pinkfresh inks: Ballet Slipper then Sparkling Rose. Stencil three is of the larger blooms and Bubble Gum and Raspberry Bliss were both used.

Stencil four is all the foliage swirling around in between the flowers and I decided on Peach Fuzz, then after it was inked I thought it looked a little too soft so I went in with a pencil and gave the leaves some darker tones here and there to help define them. Stencil five is the stems of all the blooms and I used Coral Reef which is one of my favorite Pinkfresh colors. I also used a pencil on the tips of those leaves and my image was ready.

I chose Pinkfresh's Peach Fuzz because I thought the shade went so well with some chunky glitter that I've had in my stash for a while. So I turned this circle of flowers into a shaker using glitter and Pinkfresh Crystals which shimmer so beautifully when you shake the card. For the top piece of my shaker card I used some pink cardstock and cream colored cardstock that I splattered with a little Hero Arts gold paint. They were cut to an A2 size then trimmed a quarter inch on two sides so that the card base would proved the border. I stacked one on top of the other and sliced them diagonally with my guillotine cutter. They were adhered to the top of a thin piece of paper before I die cut the circle to strengthen that top layer.

I used the Leafy Branch die (another one of my fave's!) to bracket the circle. Thin Words: Everyday script was used for the "Celebrate" along with Tonic's Gold Pearl mirror cardstock. I decided to keep the love part of the sentiment simple, there was already so much color and sparkle going on, keeping it red on white paper made sure it didn't get lost.

I decided at the last that I wanted to add some dark red crystals just to provide some contrast to all of the pale colors being used.

I hope that some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
