Celebrate {Have a Sweet Day}

Hello and welcome! It's Kelly here today sharing a bright, fun birthday card using some holiday stamps that you might still have out on your desk! ha ha! I always have such a hard time saying goodbye {until next year} to my holiday/Christmas stamps and dies! The gift images from the Gift Boxes Cling Stamp are so adorable and work PERFECTLY for birthday gifts as well! I chose to ink them up in bright rainbow colors for a playful feel!
Once I had all of the stamped gifts ready, I set them aside to work on the rest of the design elements used on this card. I die cut the Lea's Ornate Lowercase alphabet  out of glitter cardstock to enhance the birthday feel! Nothing says "celebrate" more than glitter and sparkles, am I right? The background was created by die cutting a panel of Caribbean cardstock using the Essentials: Slim Diagonal Stitched Plaid die with a little bit of Tidal Pond ink blended around the edges. I love this particular background for this card because it reminds me of wrapping paper, which is perfect to evoke all of those birthday feelings!
For those of you who are familiar with my work, then you KNOW how much I love using paper bows on my projects. I used the Partial Cut Bouquet and a Bow die collection for this card and inked it up with Lavender ink. It was the least used color on the card, so I used it again for balance. It is used on both ends of the card to create that visual balance that we're all searching for in our card designs.
I used the Essentials: Slim Stripes dies with some ink blending to create the backdrop. I also added the Diagonal Stitched Circle to help ground the letters a little bit more. I added some coordinating Jewels to each of the presents for some added sparkle and detail. The finishing touch is a second sentiment to enhance the birthday feel. It is from the Simply Sentiments: Hello stamp set and is the perfect finishing touch for this slimline design. This card would be perfect to tuck some birthday cash inside for the recipient! I had so much fun creating this fun design! I hope you'll try using some of your holiday stamps/dies in a different way to get more mileage from them! Thanks for stopping by!
