Best Wishes | Anne Fiene
Hi everyone! It's Anne here up on the blog today with a sweet best wishes card. I was inspired by the mockup/inspiration image on the back of the package. And once I got those orange, aqua, and teal colors down for the leaves, I just loved it! The stencil set that I used today is from the gorgeous Grant Yourself Grace design suite.
I put the stamp set in my MISTI and stamped out the flower-filled image with a light brown ink on a piece of white 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 cardstock. As usual, I leave the stamp in place so that I can use it again over the same panel after I've colored it in.
When I line up my first Grant Yourself Grace stencil and get it taped in place (I don't prefer to use magnets, they make me feel clumsy and sometimes get in my way), I like to grab a blender brush and ink over the four corners of the outside of the stencil sheet, then lining up the rest of the stencils is a breeze. I used Ballet Slipper, Peach Fuzz, and Apricot for the blooms and Ocean Breeze, Aquamarine, and Apricot.
When all of the colors were blended on I put it back in the MISTI and stamped with VersaMark so that I could heat emboss sparkly gold embossing powder over the whole image. Everything was cut with the Grant Yourself Grace die and set aside.
I used the new Hexagon Tile coverplate on a 4 1/8 X 5 3/8 inch piece of mint green paper and adhered it down to my A2 cardbase. I also cut out a tag from some white cardstock using Pinkfresh's Classic Tags die set and used it to arrange my die cut flowers and leaves. I also tucked into the arrangement a few sprigs from the Curvy Foliage die.
Although the Grant Yourself Grace stamp set has many lovely sentiment stamps included, I ended up using the new Scripted Sentiments hot foil plate and die for a "Best Wishes", which I think can apply to many types of situations, graduations, birthdays, weddings... I will admit though, that this is a fairly feminine card, and I might not send it to my nephew when he graduates from high school.
I added a seam binding ribbon for a bow (my new favorite thing, I'm going to use it a lot), and a few sparkling champagne Metallic Pearls to fill in some of the white space and lend it more of a celebratory feel, and I was done!
I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today, thank you so much for stopping by!
