Card Design Inspiration By Yasmin Diaz
Happy Monday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing a clean and dimensional holiday season card inspiration with a touch of “Butterfly & Glimmering” look using the Winter Berries Frame Hot Foil and Winter Berries Frame Die to add the holiday foliage, Snowflakes Coverplate Die to add the white-on-white dimensional card background. Lastly, the Large Holiday Sentiments Stamp and Large Holiday Sentiments Die to make the extra-dimensional card sentiment. Also, to add an extra magical touch to the card, I used the Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and Small Butterflies Die. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.
Therefore, I started by getting the hot foil stamping steps done over two large pieces of white cardstock using the Winter Berries Frame Hot Foil and Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate.
As for the hot foil stamping itself, I used the Glimmer Hot Foil System alongside my Platinum die-cutting machine and pieces of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll-Aura as the hot foil stamping hue.
Thus, as soon as I had completed the hot foil stamping steps over the white cardstock, I used the Solid Hot Foil Plate to do the reverse hot foil stamping. Then, after getting the reverse hot foil stamping step completed over extra pieces of white cardstock, I used the Winter Berries Frame Die and Small Butterflies Die to cut out the hot foiling stamped images.
To keep going, after completing the die-cutting step for the butterflies and foliage, I put them aside to continue with the die-cutting step for the card background.
So, I used white cardstock and the Snowflakes Coverplate Die to do the die-cutting step for the card background. Then, I repeated the die-cutting steps three times to get them stacked over and make a dimensional single-card background. Next, after stacking them over, I got the backside of the dimensional card background glued to a gold card panel and then the backing of the layered card panel glued to an A2-size top folding white card base.
Lastly, to continue with the layering pieces, I used one of the sentiments from the Large Holiday Sentiments Stamp to get it stamped with embossing ink over a white cardstock piece and then to get it heat embossed with gold embossing powder to keep the gold and white effect. Once I completed the stamping and heat embossing, I used the coordinating die included in the Large Holiday Sentiments Die set, not to cut out the sentiment only from the cardstock but a few more out of plain white cardstock to make it dimensional.
Therefore, as soon as all the layering pieces were completed, I started the card focal point layering.
Thus, I started by getting the dimensional card sentiment glued in the middle part of the card. However, I added glue only to the center part of the sentiment because I wanted to be able to lift the left side to tuck in underneath some of the foliage.
So, after getting the center part of the sentiment glued to the card background, I added dimension to the butterflies, and to do that, I layered the white-hot foil stamped butterflies over the reverse hot foil stamped ones. By the way, I added glue only to the center part of each butterfly to create the 3-D effect.
Then, to continue with the card assembling, I selected a combination of some of the positive and reverse-hot foil-stamped foliage to create a half wreath over the front card background.
Nevertheless, to create the half wreath with a right opening over the card, I moved the pieces around until I found their placement. Afterward, as soon as I got them into place over the card background, I got them glued down from the bottom right to the upper right side of the card.
Lastly, to complete the card, I glued the butterflies over the half wreath, and then I decided not to add extra embellishments due to the glimmering effect from the hot foil stamping and the gold touch picking through the dimensional die-cutting card background.
